Zyrolin

About

How this site works

Zyrolin covers home repairs, tools and household energy. This page exists so you can judge whether to trust what you read here.

Who writes it

One person. Adrián González Chico writes and edits everything here, and that page sets out what he is and is not qualified to tell you.

What we publish

Practical guidance for people who own or rent a home and have to make a decision this week. Every article tries to answer one question well rather than every adjacent question badly.

How we handle numbers

Costs vary enormously by region, season and trade availability. Rather than quoting figures that would be wrong for most readers, we explain how a bill is structured and which line items move it. When we do use figures, we say where they came from and when we last checked them.

Corrections

Pages carry an updated date when the content has materially changed. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it and say that we did. Silent edits to correct errors are not a policy we are comfortable with.

Advertising

This site is funded by display advertising. Advertisers have no input into what we cover or what we conclude, and nobody who sells a product mentioned here sees an article before it publishes.

Safety

Some of what we cover involves electricity, gas, water and height. Nothing here replaces a licensed professional, a local inspector or your own judgement about what you are equipped to take on.
