Which Home Energy Upgrades Pay for Themselves, and Which Never Do
Ranked by how fast you get the money back, not by how good they look. Two of the most commonly sold upgrades are near the bottom.

Everything on Zyrolin is written and edited by one person. This page exists so you know who that is, and what he is and is not qualified to tell you.
I am not a plumber, an electrician or a heating engineer. I hold no trade qualification and I am not going to pretend otherwise, because the first reader who checks would be right to stop trusting the rest of the site.
I build websites. Zyrolin is one of them, and it exists because of a problem I kept hitting while researching it: ask what a job costs and you get either a number with no working behind it, or a page written to sell you the job. Neither tells you how the bill is put together, which is the only thing that lets you judge a quote when it lands.
So that is the job I have given myself here. Not to be the expert, but to do the part most pages skip: gather what the energy agencies and the manufacturers actually publish, work out what it means for a household, and lay the structure out in plain language. Where the honest answer is that it depends on your own bill, the article says so and shows you the arithmetic to run it yourself.
If something here is wrong, tell me and I will fix it and say that I did. Write to adrian.contact.me.69@gmail.com with the page and what looks off. Corrections get answered before anything else.
Display advertising, and nothing else. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored articles and no product recommendations that anyone has paid to place. Advertisers have no say in what gets covered or what it concludes.

Air leaks move more heat than a thin patch of insulation ever will. Most of them are in places you have never looked, and none of the good ones are windows.
Not the phone chargers. A typical home spends most of its power on four things, and knowing which ones tells you where a bill got away from you.
They are sold on the heating bill and they should not be. What windows really cost you in heat, the cheaper alternatives, and when replacing is still right.
Annual consumption varies far less than price does. Learn the one piece of arithmetic that turns a rating plate into a number on your bill.
Solar quotes are full of assumptions you cannot check. These four figures are yours, they are findable, and they settle it before a salesperson arrives.
